PSG will clash with Atalanta in the first of the Champions League Quarter final fixtures. On paper it promises to be a game with goals with both teams having impressive scoring records and high goals-per-game records.
Atalanta finished as Serie A top scorers with 98 goals – that is an impressive 17 goals more than the second top scorers Inter.  Over the 2019/20 domestic campaign Atalanta had a GSPG average of 2.57 and a GCPG average of 1.26 – giving them a GPG average of 3.84. This rate did slow down towards the end of the season and that was highly likely a result of the amount of games they had to play in such a short period of time. Finishing 3rd was a great achievement and they go into this game in the knowledge they have already qualified for next seasons champions league group stage.
PSG were awarded the Ligue-1 title, despite the season not being completed due to the Coronavirus. PSG were sitting 12 points clear with a game in hand and given their absolute domination over the past 8 years (winning-7) there was no argument to contest them being handed another league title. With the domestic competitions being dominated over the past decade, the attention of the Parisians has shifted more and more towards the Champions League - and as with all up and coming teams that want to make a global mark this competition is the pinnacle. PSG averaged GSPG of 2.77 a GCPG average of 0.88 and a total GPG-average of 3.66.
When comparing Atalanta and PSG in their respective leagues, Atalanta had a higher GPG average ratio that PSG, but PSG faired better in the individual stats from a defensive and offensive point of view.
The following bets look interesting:
  • Both teams to score @ 1.60
  • Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70
  • PSG to qualify @ 1.58
Good luck with any bets placed.
